Rod is a pretty happy teenager. He earns good grades, gets along with his mom, and has a great girlfriend. He also plays in a punk rock band with his best friends. Life is pretty good for Rod. That is, until his cousin Blake moves in. Blake is super rich, super snobby, and his parents are away on a three month cruise.
Rod becomes convinced that Blake is out to ruin his life and nobody sees it but him. But in everyone else’s minds, Rod is crazy.
This book is funny and frustrating at the same time. Is Rod just being overdramatic and blowing things out of proportion? Is Blake really as terrible as Rod claims he is? Maybe it’s a little of both. It’s up to the reader to decide.
How You Ruined My Life, by Jeff Strand, is shelved in the young adult fiction section.
