The Lost Causes book cover: dark blue, the silhouettes of 5 teens standing in the woods
The Lost Causes tells the story of a bunch of outcasts who are called into a group therapy session at their school. Upon arrival, they find out that the ‘therapy session’ is just a ruse. The FBI are trying to solve the grisly murder of a local woman and have turned to this group of troubled teens for help. Why? Because these teens are the ones that everyone else has given up on, the ones that nobody cares about. The lost causes.

Told in alternating points of view, each chapter relates the perspective of one of the ‘Lost Causes’. This enables the reader to get into the mind of each character and see their thoughts about their situation and about each other. While not so much action-packed, this book is definitely a fast paced page-turner bursting with suspense.
