Summer Reading Game

Every summer, GPPL offers a Summer Reading Game designed to keep teens reading over the summer.

Boardom Busters

July 1 to August 25

All teens 13 and 18 are welcome to participate. No registration required.

How to Play

When you finish a book, fill out a ballot and enter it into the weekly prize draw. The ballot box will be located on the Teen Information Desk. 

If you can't make it into GPPL, email the following information to

  1. Name
  2. Phone Number
  3. Title of Book
  4. Author of Book
  5. Date Finished
  6. Review (Optional)



Everytime you finish a book and submit a ballot you recieve one entry into the weekly prize draw. The prize is a $15 Coles gift card. Draws will take place every Monday from July 9 to August 27. Winners will be notified by phone.

Bonus Ballots

Bonus ballots can be earned in two ways:

  • Including a review of the book with your ballot
  • Reading a book from the week's featured genre

GPPL staff will enter bonus ballots for you. Displays will be set up each wee based on that week's genre. Also, check out the Teen Blog for weekly book reccommendations.

Grand Prizes

All summer reading game participants will be entered in a draw to win a Kobo Aura. This draw will take place on Friday, August 31.


  1. Children's picture books are not permitted
  2. Audio-books, graphic novels, and manga are permitted
  3. Participants must reside within the City or County of Grande Prairie, Saddle Hills, or the MD of Greenview.

Teen Summer Hangouts

Come hang out and play some awesome games. Think you have played Snakes & Ladders before? Not the GPPL way! Audience: ages 12 to 18. Maximum 20 teens.

July 26 - Riddle Me This
August 2 - Clued In Murder Mystery
August 9 - Giant Yahtzee Game
August 16 - Minute to Win It
August 23 - Board Game Afternoon
