On the main floor at GPPL is an area just for teens. Along with an extensive collection of young adult novels, GPPL offers anime, graphic novels, movies and DVDs. A casual reading area, public Internet computers, and a quiet study table are also available.
So, why do we limit our teen area to teens?
- It's the smallest public space in the library; there isn't a lot of room for people there in general.
- Teens, particularly young women, receive a lot of unwanted attention.
- Teens need space to connect with their peers and explore materials in our collection without making their interests public.
Programs are planned with a teen audience in mind, including DIY craft programs, a Young Authors' Club, and Teen Advisory Board. A list of upcoming Teen programs is available online.
