The Lendery

Those who live or work in the County of Grande Prairie have another way to pick up their library materials! GPPL is excited to introduce The Lendery, a collection of smart lockers that offer a secure, alternative location for library users to pick up books, DVDs, and other items. The Lendery can be found at the Wellington Resource Centre in Clairmont, and patrons looking to pick up library materials can do so Monday to Friday, from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM.

The Lendery was made possible by a partnership between the Grande Prairie Public Library, the County of Grande Prairie Community Libraries, and Peace Library System. Financial support was provided by the Government of Alberta and the Willie Janssen Legacy Fund, as well as the County of Grande Prairie.

To pick up your materials at The Lendery, simply select Clairmont-Grande Prairie Public as the pick-up location when placing a request online. After the materials have been delivered to the locker, the user will receive a notification that their items are ready for pick up. Then you just need to scan your library card and enter your PIN into the screen on The Lendery.

Where is The Lendery located?

At the Wellington Resource Centre in Clairmont, at 10407 97 Street.

What are the hours I can pick up my items from The Lendery?

The Wellington Resource Centre is open Monday to Friday, from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM. Please note that the Wellington Resource Centre is closed on statutory holidays and the last week of December.

How often are items delivered to the lockers?

Once a week - notifications will usually go out on Mondays.

How long do I have to pick up my items?

Just like at GPPL, you have seven days to pick up your items from when you receive the first notification.

What happens if I don't pick up my items from the lockers?

After seven days, they are returned to the owning library or sent to the next patron in line for them.

I can't pick my items up from the lockers. Can I change the pick-up location to GPPL?

No - unfortunately we are unable to change the pick-up location. However, you are welcome to place another hold on the item and choose Grande Prairie Public Library as the pick-up location for that hold.

What happens if I owe money on my library account? Can I still pick up items?

It depends - similar to our self-checkout machines, if you have under $10 owing on your account, you can still check materials out. If you have over $10, you will need to bring that amount to below $10 to be able to check out items at the lockers. You can contact GPPL for more information or to make a payment.
